The Good Mother

I was looking for a picture of me and my mom to post, because today's the 6th anniversary of her passing, and I found this blast from the past.

Yeah, that's me in the red-satin, plaid-ruffled, can-can girl outfit, LOL. I got the three wayward braids and tightly coiled bangs. I'm clean, well-fed, and smiling.

I had a mother who not only handled the basics and cared for me; she footed the bill for and drove me to and from tap, ballet, jazz, gymnastics, guitar lessons--whatever my little mind could think of. She nurtured my creativity and believed in my dreams. And she never, ever let me forget I was loved.

I wish that kind of mother for every kid in the world.

p.s.--Look at the precision of my arm placement, the way I'm loving the camera--I been done been a star! LOL.

Reading about your mother makes me feel good, so I can only imagine how you're feeling today. Thank you for sharing her beautiful spirit with the rest of us.

she knew she was raising one amazing limitless child with possibilities bigger than any one stage could hold. all blessings on her soul today. how freakin' proud she must be to see you taking good care of your own self these days, accepting things you can't change about other people, making allowances without backing down, forgiving, being the bigger person,
loving Jesus, getting your head straight and helping others do the same. know what i call a mom like that? BLESSED.

What a tribute you are to your mother. . . .
I'd wish a mother like yours on EVERYBODY.
